Totally that it is really fatening! Or just generally that beer is for louts and wine is for foodies. The amount of 'good' restaurants that you go to with an extensive world wine list, and no beers. You then have to ask what beers they do and the waiter/ress has to go ask!!
worst of all when they come back and say St***a or Kr*******g

Here's a myth - "women just don't like beer" - uttered by the head brewer of a micro. I was tempted to tell him what a load of bullshit that was but thought better of it since they're paying me for marketing/PR.
I agree Finn, it's so aggrevating that in good restaurants, even ones that claim to be very British-focused, that all you get is a wine list - last time I checked beer is the most consumed alcoholic drink on the planet and is our national product - you'd think they'd wise up a bit to that wouldn't you?
They say foreign beer that comes over from other countries to the U.S. has formalydahyde in it to perserve it from spoiling to be able to sell in the States.
Sorry Matt, missed this one earlier in the year, that one comes from when Austrian wines were found to have formaldahyde in them! There was also an issue with some of the Eastern block wines doing that too a couple of years ago! Ugh!
Mmm, "girls don't like beer". Sorry, this one does. Also the restaurants thing is just so painful. Some of us genuinely don't like wine.
I went to an incredibly posh dinner held at the Natural History Museum. They offered me all these fancy wines, and I tried to explain that I don't like wine, I drink beer. Please. I spoke to five serving staff including the person in charge and delicately explained that I would like a glass of real ale please, any real ale, to go with my lovely dinner. Half an hour later, a glass of chilled fizzy lager appeared. And they were so pleased with themselves. I just couldn't take it any further.
Why have we got this culture in this country? Grrr, it makes me so cross. Beer is NOT just for oiks. Male ones at that.
